The goal for the Academic Hall of Fame is to recognize current and former students who have contributed to our school, their profession, and/or the community while practicing our core values; respect, responsibility, integrity, courage, curiosity, and effort. They serve as a model example for current students, former graduates, and our entire school community.

The awards are presented in May annually to recipients at Horizon Science Academy of Lorain. An inscription board listing all recipients is to be displayed in the High School Academic Hall of Fame for students and community members.

A committee of five Horizon Science Academy of Lorain staff members (Principal, Assistant Principal of School Culture, Assistant Principal of Academics, College Counselor, and a High School Teacher) will vote using data and a rubric to determine each year’s recipients.
