Horizon Science Academy of Lorain
Founded in 2009, Horizon Science Academy of Lorain is a public charter school serving approximately 850 students in grades K–12 and providing a rigorous STEM-focused education that develops inquisitive learners, problem solvers, and ethical leaders. Operated by Concept Schools, the school fosters strong student achievement through a culture of accountability, high expectations, and active partnership among students, families, and staff.

At Horizon Science Academy of Lorain, our mission is simple: we prepare our students for higher education and beyond by creating an effective learning environment with high standards and expectations. Concept Model
Horizon Science Academy of Lorain is managed by Concept Schools, an award-winning charter management organization that assists over 40 schools across the Midwest. Since 1999, Concept has built a reputation for providing a wide array of services for its network of schools, including its STEM-focused curricula that has put students in a position to succeed after they graduate high school. It has been around almost as long as the charter school movement and has been a great partner in helping Horizon Science Academy of Lorain get to the point it is at today.
