Mr. Oztas

Mr. Adnan Oztas, known to his students as Mr. Oz, is a High School Math Teacher at Horizon Science Academy of Lorain. He has been teaching mathematics since 2008 and has taught middle and high school students in Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, and the United States.

Originally from Turkey, Mr. Oz earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bilkent University and later completed a Master of Arts in English Language Teaching. Before joining Horizon Science Academy of Lorain, he taught mathematics at Noble Academy, including classroom instruction, Title I Math, and math intervention.

Mr. Oz enjoys helping students build confidence in mathematics, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and discover that math can be both challenging and enjoyable.

Fun Facts About Mr. Oz: He enjoys playing chess, solving puzzles and mind games, and learning about programming and technology. He speaks Turkish and English, as well as some Bangla. He has lived in several countries and enjoys learning about different cultures. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
