Mrs. Petkovsek

Mrs. Petkovsek is our 7th-grade ELA teacher at Horizon Science Academy Lorain. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Malone University and her Master’s of Education in 4–9 Middle Childhood Education from Kent State University. Mrs. Petkovsek is passionate about helping students develop a love of reading and writing while encouraging them to think critically, express themselves confidently, and make meaningful connections to the world around them.

Originally from Stow, she moved to Lorain after getting married and is proud to now call Lorain home. She and her husband have been together for 18 years and are the proud parents of two children, an 11-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Petkovsek enjoys spending time with her family, crafting,  biking, and, of course, visiting Starbucks.
