The Horizon Science Academy of Lorain Robotics team, Robo-Cyclones, were honored for their tremendous attainment by Senator Gayle Manning.
On Wednesday, May 23rd, the Robo-Cyclones team, parents, and coaches traveled to the state capital, Columbus, Ohio. Before heading to the State House the team enjoyed a wonderful site seeing adventure of downtown Columbus and then made their way to the State House where they were given a tour to provide insight about the rich history of Ohio. Once the tour ended, everyone headed to the Senate Chambers to observe how our Democracy functions on a daily basis. After a few minutes of being in shock of the moment and patiently waiting, Senator Manning graciously recognized the Robo-Cyclones for being one of the top teams in the World.
At their previous World competition in Louisville, Kentucky, the Robo-Cyclones battled with 400 teams from 40 different countries, totaling more than 1500 participants. They played ten grueling matches over the course of two days, and proudly earned themselves a top ranking of 48th in the Engineering division.
