Horizon Students Excel at STEM Competition in New York

High school students from Horizon Science Academy of Lorain competed for top prizes at the International Genius Olympiad in New York.

According to their website, “GENIUS Olympiad provides challenges and opportunities for secondary school students, to instill in them the skills and knowledge needed to be the citizens, leaders, scientists, artists, writers, engineers, and policy makers of the future—agents who will promote and contribute to greater environmental sustainability throughout their lives.”

With that said, Horizon students represented Ohio and traveled to the State University of New York at Oswego campus, to compete with 1200 students from all over the world at the International Genius Olympiad. Overall, we are proud to announce that are students excelled among the world’s best. The students earned the following honors: Nathaleya Simpson, CaMarea Snipes-Thomas- Silver medalists, Omer Gurbuz- Bronze Medalist, Olivia Bratulic, and Abigail Laurenti- Honorable Mention
