ypically, our mission at Horizon Science Academy is to prepare students to succeed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Not anymore. Our high school art students’ talent is quickly altering the school’s philosophy into a STEAM (“A” for Art) approach.
On Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, Horizon students showcased their talents by winning multiple categories at the Art Fair Competition. This year the Art Fair had a juried show with a panel of seven judges, some of whom are local artists, graduates of Cleveland Institute of Art and fellow educators. There were three grade level categories with three prizes per group (1st, 2nd and 3rd place,) K-4, 5-8, and 9-12, Additionally, there were Best in Show, People’s Choice, and “Juror’s” choice awards.
