The recent tragedies with Hurricane Maria have impacted our school community to the point of action and many of our high school students felt the need to respond with urgency. Many of our school families had close ties to families in Puerto Rico and wanted to find a way to respond. After discussing their feelings with our school administration, a dress down day was planned to help raise funds that would go towards the needs of Puerto Rico. Students wore a red shirt in support of Puerto Rico and then for a dollar, they could dress down completely. As a result of both staff and students participating in this fundraiser, over $380 was raised towards these efforts. Our High School Student Council chose an organization to send the funds to in hopes to see the lives of those living in Puerto Rico recover.
